The Prudential PE PLETT, a truly unique MTB race.

Not only is the race unique because it covers such a varying degree of coastline and eco systems. The Prudential PE PLETT also changes direction each year and alternates starting point between Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth.

For 2020, the 8th staging of the Prudential PE PLETT will be taking riders from Plettenberg bay to Port Elizabeth. With our start for the 2020 Prudential PE PLETT being the prestigious Kurland Polo Club, the gateway to the Otters trail. This way exposes riders from the start to the exclusive otters trail and into fully protected national parks.

This riding area is only accessible to the Prudential PE Plett and remains off limits to the public all year round.
Starting the other way creates an entirely new venture and point-of-view for all riders. Riders have referred to this as a completely different race with a whole different vibe. With the prevailing wind being from a westerly direction. Riders can usually expect a tail wind on this unique journey along the Eastern Coast of South Africa.

If you have taken part in the event from Port Elizabeth to Plett, why not try it the other way round?

As there is no time bar on the Prudential PE PLETT even a social mountain
biker could complete the TOUGH One. With daily distances not exceeding
90km and elevation averaging at 1500m per day its TOUGH but very achievable.

The LITE is designed for those social riders with an average daily distances
of 60km and elevation of 1200m.
The fact that you can rub shoulders with
the pros and ride a common route for at least 70% of the time makes the
LITE category extremely appealing.

It's a ride with a vibe
